Welcome to the website of the Energy and Environment Specialty Group (EESG) of the Association of American Geographers (AAG). Our members have planned a very exciting set of 14 EESG-sponsored sessions for the 2008 AAG Annual Meeting in Boston covering a wide range of issues from a diverse set of theoretical perspectives. Session information is available on our conference page. The sessions reflect diverse geographical interest in energy systems as complex social, technical, political-economic and environmental systems of enormous consequence for creating just and sustainable societies. Thanks to all who have organized and agreed to present in these sessions!

Deadlines for submitting letters of interest and then manuscripts to the EESG Luten and Cook Award Paper Competitions are in February -- all members are welcome to submit.

Please send soon anything you would like posted to the website (papers, links, opinions, jobs, announcements, inquiries, etc.), as website traffic is heaviest in the spring shortly before the AAG meeting and during fall conference organizing.
